Vesselin Boydev
Veselin Boydev was born on January 5th, 1974 in the city of Sofia. Graduated “Directing for puppet theater” at NATFIZ "Kr. Sarafov" in the class of Prof. Slavcho Malenov and “Film and television directing” from the class of Academician Ludmil Stoykov. Author and director of a number of puppet shows presented at national and international festivals in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Germany, Turkey, Russia, China, He has staged in Russia, Serbia and Israel.
Member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists, UNIMA, THEATER AUTHOR. Winner of the "Icarus" award for the best puppet show for "The Piece" in 2018.
In 2016, he made his debut in the cinema with the short feature film "Clothes", winner of the Jameson Short Film Award from Sofia Film FEST and best short film - Awards of the Bulgarian Film Academy in 2017 and a number of other selections and awards from international festivals.
Over thirty of his theatrical performances have been performed in various theaters in Bulgaria.
In 2022, together with Eva Kyosovska, they held a creative laboratory at the State Puppet Theater Plovdiv - "Modern Technologies and the Puppet Theater", for which they were nominated for the Plovdiv Award 2023 in the category "Contemporary multi-genre arts".
