Plovdiv Puppet Theatre Begins a Workshop with Prof. Sterre Maier

A specialized acting workshop with Prof. Sterre Maier has begun at Plovdiv Puppet Theatre. Prof. Maier is one of the leading specialists in the field of vocal technique, singing, and actor training. She prepares actors for productions on Broadway and the West End and works with performers from the international stage.

Prof. Sterre Maier is an internationally recognized pedagogue and vocal coach with many years of experience working with both dramatic actors and performers in musical theatre. In her practice, she combines an in-depth knowledge of vocal anatomy with contemporary techniques for unlocking vocal potential and an individual approach to each artist. Her method places strong emphasis on the connection between breath, body, and emotion, transforming the voice into a fully developed instrument of stage presence and expression.

The training focuses on refining the actors’ skills in diaphragmatic breathing, voice projection, sound production, and text work, including the delivery of Shakespearean text. The workshop is part of the theatre’s long-term strategy to enhance the professional qualification of the company and further develop its artistic expressiveness.

The workshop is implemented under the project “Together Again” by the Municipality of Plovdiv, within the procedure “A New Generation of Local Cultural Policies for Large Municipalities,” funded by the European Union through the Recovery and Resilience Facility – NextGenerationEU.
