"The Canterville Ghost" with three nominations for the IKAR Award

The spectacle based on Oscar Wilde and directed by Elitsa Petkova, which the audience saw for the first time at the end of October last year, received nominations in the following categories:

Nomination for the IKAR Award 2025 in the "Puppet Performance" category, decided by the Guild of Artists in Puppetry.

The team of the performance also received two nominations in the category "Achievement in Puppet Art", decided by the Guild of Artists in Puppet Art and a committee consisting of: Dr. Ina Bozhidarova (theatre critic), Polina Hristova (actress), Tsveti Penyashki (actor, director):

  • IVA GIKOVA, IVAYLO NIKOLOV for the sets and puppets of "The Canterville Ghost" by Oscar Wilde, dramatization and dir. Elitsa Petkova, State Puppet Theater - Plovdiv and "Fables with Letters" based on the book by Tsvetanka Brestnichka "Fables with the Letters from A to Z", dramatization and dir. Elitsa Petkova, Sofia Puppet Theater;
  • PLAMEN PETKOV (MENSA) for the original music of "The Canterville Ghost" by Oscar Wilde, dramatization and dir. Elitsa Petkova, State Puppet Theatre – Plovdiv, "Fabulous Stories with Letters" based on the book by Tsvetanka Brestnichka "Fabulous Stories with Letters from A to Z", dramatization and dir. Elitsa Petkova, Sofia Puppet Theatre and "Muff, Half-Shoe and Mossy Beard" based on Eno Raud, dir. Yordan Tinkov, Nikolay Binev Youth Theatre.
