Second creative laboratory'Techno-Logic'
From the 1st to the 10th of July, the State Puppet Theater Plovdiv will host the second creative laboratory, organized by the NPO "Three are too many, two - not enough" in partnership with the theater: "Techno - Logic" - modern technologies and puppet theater.
The lab will be dedicated to sensors and robotic puppets. This year, the research will be on the topic of artificial intelligence.
By means of sensors and robotic puppets, directors Eva Kyosovska and Veselin Boydev together with their partners Petko Tanchev /sensors and video environment/, Ivaylo Nikolov /scenography and puppets/, Simeon Yanchev /Robotev.com/, Pavlomir Doychev /composer/, will set questions such as "When artificial reality destroys man?", "Is it possible for man to become God?".
A show of the results from the laboratory will be held on july 10 at 7:00 pm. Free entry with coupons from the box office of the State Puppet Theater - Plovdiv until places are sold out.

Veselin Boydev and Eva Kyosovska, directors and artistic directors of the second creative laboratory for modern technologies and puppet theater "TECHNO-LOGIC" . They are directors at the State Puppet Theater - Plovdiv, and have staged performances at a number of theaters in the country.
Veselin Boydev and Eva Kyosovska were nominated for the Plovdiv Award 2023 in the category "Contemporary multi-genre arts" for the realization of the first creative laboratory - "BORDER".
Petko Tanchev is also part of the creative team of the laboratory this year. He is a visual artist who uses software systems and media content. His professional activity includes a number of author installations for national and international festivals, digital performances, scenographic projects, mapping projections, video art works, interactive designs in the field of performing arts and advertising industry.
Ivaylo Nikolov will be the scenographer of the Laboratory. He graduated from NATFA "Kr. Sarafov", majoring in Scenography for Puppet Theater under Prof. Maiya Petrova. He worked on over 40 puppet and drama theater productions in Bulgaria, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, most of them co-authored with Iva Gikova.
Winner of national awards and nominations for scenography, including the Icarus award 2017 for "Gelsomino in the land of liars" Puppet Theatre Stara Zagora, Askeer 2016 nominations for scenography and costume design for "The Caucasian Chalk Circle" Drama Theatre Varna, etc., Icarus award 2023 for "The Invisible Tonino" State Puppet Theater - Plovdiv.
Simeon Yanchev will introduce us to robotics within the second creative laboratory. The Robotev team aims to make the hobby of robotics and the creation of interactive objects and environments as accessible as possible.
"We believe that microcontrollers, sensors and actuators can be an inexhaustible source of entertainment and that there is no right or wrong way to combine them. We also believe that technology and art can fully complement each other."
Pavlomir Doychev is also part of this year's creative team. He is a composer and will create the musical environment for a second creative laboratory for modern technologies in the puppet theater "TECHNO-LOGIC".
Vladislav Sevov will film the whole process of the Laboratory! He is a journalist at the Bulgarian National Television Plovdiv, screenwriter and cameraman. Honored with several awards for his work as a journalist and documentarian, winner of the Plovdiv 2023 Award for "Journalism in the field of culture".
Actors from State Puppet Theater - Plovdiv, State Puppet Theater - Burgas and the Sofia Puppet Theater will take part in the laboratory: Evdokia Encheva, Eline Stoyanova, Kalina Valcheva, Alex Eneva, Vanya Kamyanska, Yordan Stoyanov, Natalia Vasileva and Kalin Kolev
The project was implemented with the financial support of the National Fund "Culture" under the "One Year Grant" program - 2022 and is part of the "Heritage" Program of Plovdiv - European Capital of Culture 2019.
