At a press conference held on January 12 at the State Puppet Theater - Plovdiv, the director of the play - Elitsa Petkova, spoke about the motivation to work on this text. "Our hero undergoes a big journey. In the beginning he is a cheeky kid who subdues the magic to his quest to be different, extraordinary. Once he realizes that everything he does has consequences that he cannot evade, he really becomes a good child. But still a child. " The characteristic puppets and impressive decor created by the stage designers Iva Gikova and Ivaylo Nikolov, as well as the wonderful music of Plamen Petkov, create a fun, magical world that ignites children's imagination and desire for adventure. With incredible enthusiasm and energy, the young actors bring to life the characters who make us laugh, make us sad and even make us angry at times. Sincerely and naively. Just like children do.
"Dunno in the Sunny City" is a story about a child's strong desire to be good, but only to receive his reward. Namely - a magic wand! The fulfillment of his wish involves him in an adventure that leads to great consequences for which he is not yet ready. Without looking back, Dunno bravely waves the magic wand before our eyes until he reaches the greatest magic that a person is capable of - to be good because you want to be like that!
After the first performance with selected audience - students from the universities of arts in Plovdiv and fellow artists in December, the creative team is looking forward to welcome children and their parents! The performances are scheduled for 11th February at 18:00 and 13th February at 10:30 and 11:45.
"Dunno in the Sunny City" is the first event with which the theater celebrates its 75th anniversary!
