“Hamlet” is a performance dedicated to those who have read the eternal masterpiece of William Shakespeare, to those who intend to read it and to those who have never heard of its existence. With the help of marionettes and improvised puppets lead by ghost – actors, the torments of the Prince of Denmark in the Ellsinore Castle are presented as a tragic farce. The performance is a joke revealed by some real men. Panayot Dobrev /Ponko/ is in the roles of Gertrude – the queen of Denmark and the frail Ophelia. Victor Boytchev breathes heavily like the ghost. Rumen Karamanov tortures himself along with Hamlet and Dimitar Nikolov all alone performs a whole troupe of actors. If you feel yourself like “plunging” in the works of the great bard, listening some heavy-metal music or if you are fen of the fast food bars this performance of the State Puppet Theatre – Plovdiv is just for you. “Hamlet” – a tragedy of the revenge!
